At the point where the Mediterranean almost meets Central Europe, one finds Portoroz – a small tourist town with a mild climate, a century-old tradition, a chain of comfortable hotels, sandy and rocky beaches, casinos, a marina, a sports centre,… all this only five kilometers from the Portoroz Airport. Aerodrom Portoroz is the third international airport in Slovenia with a 1200-metre asphalt runway. It is suitable for all types of aircraft under the VFR and IFR rules with up to 25 tons of maximum take-off weight. The airport features an aviation gasoline and kerosene service, hangar, flight school, eco aircraft washing service, restaurant with an outdoor terrace, Duty Free Shop, parking area, post office, etc. It is renowned for the beautiful panoramic flights and parachute jumps. Due the mild climate, the airport is an ideal place for pilot eduaction and training throughout the year.
Is the first marina built in Slovenia. Planning began as far back as 1974 and the marina was constructed on areas that were once the salt pans of Lucija. Today there are more than a thousand berths available in the sea, on shore and in two hangars as well as the Fazan canal. It is a safe port, a good haven in all winds, located in the protected eastern part of the Gulf of Piran, where the conditions for safe navigation and recreational sailing are stable throughout the year.
Tradition of conference tourism
Portorož and Piran, with their quiet lush green environment and proximity to the sea, have for many years been a locale of choice for organising official state events, international congresses, business conferences, cultural and entertainment events. The Bernardin Resort has one of the biggest congress centres in Slovenia. Your event can be organised in unorthodox venues outside of the congress halls; for example, the town wall of Piran, museums, squares in Piran and Sečovlje Salina. Participants will remember such an event for a long time.
